Kevin has always had a hearing problem, and has worn aids since just after his Greenhill days. At the end of 2007, he opted to undergo what was then a novel operation - the implanting of a stud into the bone of his skull behind his left ear. The stud could then have a microphone/amplifier plugged into it, and if successful many of his problems would be over. With a little persuasion, he agreed to write a Blog of his experiences. This not only grew as he chronicled his progress, but also as time progressed he included a great deal of backgouund material.
In reading it, do remember that is is in effect a web-site in its own right, with various categories of material. Also, being a Blog, one needs to "read it backwards" to follow the entries in chronological order. Read more.....

North American vehicle license plates are far more varied and colourful than the UK equivalents and collecting them is a popular hobby there. Glenvil Roberts started collecting plates in 1982 after emigrating to Canada in 1974. He has several hundred items and specialises in Police and birth year plates. He served 30 years with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Read more.....

John was at Greenhill 1953-60, and was a mathematician and physicist of some repute. He is now a photographer of some repute! His site discusses the intricacies of the perspectives of panoramas made up from multiple over-lapping photographs, and also tells the story (through his photographs) of the Restoration of the Huddersfield Narrow Canal in Saddleworth.
